Straight Talk from Henrybuilt

Delivering the Dream
One thing is for certain in these uncertain times - the home building industry has changed in permanent ways. There’s no such thing as ”going back to the way things were.” Reliable partners on your project are more critical than ever.

We wanted to let you know where Henrybuilt fits into all of this. Specifically, what we are doing to help you realize the outcome you want.

In 21 years – and 5000+ projects – we have been late nine times, all but one prior to 2013. Then came the pandemic. We had to shut down our shop for a time. Even so, we worked closely with our clients and were able to meet all of their delivery requirements.

Lag times in worldwide and domestic shipping and logistics have become the norm. We don’t expect this to improve any time soon.

So, we’ve taken 4 specific steps to overcome these challenges.
1. Eliminating Reliance on Materials with International Shipments

Our shop is in Seattle. Nearly all our suppliers are domestic. For those that aren’t, we’ve negotiated on-shore inventory. So, while we are not immune, we are protected against international shipping and sourcing delays.
2. Leveraging Longstanding Relationships

20-year partnerships with our major material and equipment providers have kept us at the front of the line with our suppliers. We also have 3-stage supply chains in place that give us months of buffer time to see problems coming and reduce the impact of short term material cost swings. We also have weekly restocking to ensure consistent supply – from the core wood material to the stainless steel components.
3. Production Systems

Our one-piece flow model of production gives us weeks to ensure materials are in house for production. For added insurance, we have increased our inventory of all core parts.
4. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping transit times have ballooned from days to weeks during the pandemic for large shipments. To overcome this, we designed a new system with a dedicated shipper that cuts transit time from as much as 3 weeks to 3-8 days anywhere in the United States, significantly reducing the time from our door to yours down to about 2 weeks.
It’s about making your project outcome more predictable - bringing the reality and your dream of it closer together.
